Species Information Database on Japanese, East Asian and Pacific Insects, Spiders and Mites

An entomology reference database KONCHUR is an insect species (including spiders and mites) information database based on main Japanese entomological and zoological journals and treats a taxon (e.g., scientific or Japanese name of one species, one genus, or one family) as one record. This database includes many East Asian and Pacific insects as well as Japanese ones. Each record is composed of 13 items, such as bibliographical (author, title, journal, volume, page and year), taxonomical (order, family, synonymy), distributional data and key words (taxonomy, morphology, ecology, biology, etc). The record includes many useful information such as type locality, type depository, host records, etc.

The KONCHUR is managed by a text database management system SIGMA.

KONCHUR is supported by a Grant-in-Aid for Publication of Scientific Research Result and a Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (B) from the Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture, Japan.

The use of data in this database is free of charge if the objective is academic study or educational purposes.
